





SY Celandine wins first NZ Marine Cup
The smallest superyacht in the field, the 95 ft (29m) cruising yacht Celandine won the first New Zealand Marine Cup, the Kiwi Kawau Challenge, sailed on Thursday 4 March.
Race director Hal director Hal Wagstaff, of the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, advised Celandine won on handicap by 12 minutes, 48 seconds from SY Shenandoah with SY Drumbeat a further 23 minutes, 33 seconds behind in third place.
“All three yachts enjoyed a fantastic day’s racing through the beautiful islands of Auckland’s Hauraki Gulf,” said Mark Wightman, chairman of the New Zealand Marine Export Group (NZ Marine) which hosted the event. More...
First NZ Marine Cup set to sail
With scenic Kawau Island as their destination, a small fleet of superyachts will set sail from Auckland Harbour late in the morning on Thursday 4 March for the first NZ Marine Cup.
Hosted by the New Zealand Marine Export Group (NZ Marine), the one-off race sees the beautifully-crafted superyachts SY Drumbeat, SY Shenandoah and SY Celandine as the official entries for the Kiwi Kawau Challenge.

The beautiful, classic three-masted schooner SY Shenandoah is confirmed as an entrant in the superyacht event, New Zealand Marine Cup: Kiwi Kawau Challenge, scheduled for Thursday 4 March.

18 February 2010: SY Celandine has entered the New Zealand Marine Cup: Kiwi Kawau Challenge, a one-off superyacht race from Auckland to Kawau Island on 4 March.
Captain Pierre-Marie Feuille says the 95 ft (29m) cruising yacht is visiting New Zealand while on a round-the-world cruise in a westerly direction. Celandine arrived in New Zealand in October and, with the assistance of NZ Marine group member Thirty Seven South, yacht management and yacht support agents, has been undergoing some repairs and maintenance after more than a year at sea covering 17,000 nautical miles.
