Innovation, technology and design are the guiding principles for Southern Spars. We use state-of-the-art design software and manufacturing processes and employ the highest standards in quality control, to ensure our customers' requirements are met with precision. Southern Spars has centres in the USA, France, South Africa, and headquarters in Auckland, New Zealand.

PRODUCTS & SERVICES

Carbon Spars:
From grand-prix racing yachts to cruising yachts, Southern Spars designs and manufactures custom and production carbon fibre spars and booms, including the Southern Furl and Leisure Furl booms.

Carbon Rigging: Composite Rigging is Southern Spars' specialist rigging business, and manufactures custom lightweight rigging products, including Element C6 continuous carbon rigging (EC6+) and carbon rigging discontinuous (EC6), Aramid rigging and the Luff Rope.

Rig Service: Rig Pro is a specialist service business of Southern Spars and provides comprehensive and professional rig service. With four service centres strategically placed in four continents, servicing customers' yachts is easy and efficient. Rig Pro provides a ‘Mast Maintenance Programme', designed to monitor the servicing upkeep of a yacht's rig

Components: Lightweight, reliable composite components including spinnaker poles, sprits, booms, glass and carbon tubing, sail battens, stanchions, masthead wands, tillers and extensions are designed and manufactured by Southern Spars.

When Open 60 Paprec-Virbac 2 won the non-stop 29,000 nautical mile Barcelona World Race earlier in 2008, they did so using leading-edge carbon mast and carbon rigging technology. In fact the only finishers of that race were rigged with Southern Spars. The same state-of-the-art technology, innovative design thinking and commitment to customers for the Paprec-Virbac 2 project goes into every project undertaken at Southern Spars - from superyachts to grand-prix racing machines through to one-design class racing vessels and cruising yachts.
